On 4 July 2025, MST hosted a vibrant Speech Day, resonating with applause, cheers, and heartfelt moments. Students, parents, guests, teachers, staff, and alumni gathered in an atmosphere radiating warmth like family, celebrating the school’s achievements.
Supervisor Miss Jennifer Wong Chi Mei and Principal Miss Wong Lee Lee opened with inspiring remarks, commending the steadfast commitment of teachers and parents, and the outstanding achievements of students in academics, sports, and other areas. A shared message from them was that MST is a nurturing environment that fosters growth. Two S6 graduates delivered a touching vote of thanks, reflecting on their six transformative years in this supportive community. They expressed gratitude for the school’s role in preparing them for life’s challenges, which sparked cheers from the audience.
A highlight was the address by alumnus Mr. Poon Siu Tung, a Form 7 graduate now a judge at the Court of First Instance of the High Court. Mr. Poon shared fond memories of his school days, humorously recalling reprimands from his beloved Pure Mathematics teacher and the then Principal, whose heartfelt guidance made him a better person. He described a judge’s role as far more complex than portrayed in movies and TV dramas, requiring patience, discipline, empathy, and sound legal judgment. As a student, he was passionate about Pure Mathematics and never aspired to a legal career. However, now, as a judge, he finds great satisfaction in upholding justice. Drawing on his own experience, he encouraged students not to lose interest in school, as there may be many discoveries guiding them to their true callings. He added that they will one day treasure these precious years. Our students were surely inspired by his heartfelt message.
The ceremony glowed with joy as students and teachers received awards and certificates on stage, met with warm applause. Three lively performances by students capped the event, leaving everyone uplifted. This warm and solemn Speech Day underscored MST’s achievements and unity, pointing our students to where their talents may take them.
