We adopt a three-tier operation mode in implementing gifted education. For level one (daily teaching), we immerse the core elements advocated in gifted education, i.e., high-order thinking skills, creativity, and personal-social competence, in the curriculum for ALL students. We also adopt small group teaching in the core subjects in junior forms to cater to the different needs of the higher-ability groups with enrichment and extension of the curriculum.

 

For level two (school-based pull-out programme), we conduct pull-out programmes in specific areas outside the regular classroom to allow systematic training for students with outstanding performance in specific domains. We started the MST Stars of Tomorrow in the 2023-24 school year to provide systemtic training for students in three different domains: (1) Mathematics, (2) Science, and (3) Languages and Humanities.

 

For level three (off-school programme), we nominate students to join various progrmmes offered by tertiary institutes and other educational organizations (e.g., HKU Academy for the Talented, CUHK Program for the Gifted and Talented and the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education to make use of external resource support for the exceptionally gifted.
