On 29 March 2025, our students participated in a visit to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) Information Centre, organized by the Economics and Business Society. Staff members of the HKMA introduced us to the main functions of the HKMA, including maintaining the stability of Hong Kong’s monetary and financial systems, managing the Exchange Fund, and promoting the development of financial markets. Through display panels, interactive games, and multimedia presentations, we gained a deeper understanding of the historical development of the financial market in Hong Kong. In addition, the exhibition showcased Hong Kong banknotes and coins from different periods, allowing us to learn about the evolution of local currency design and the historical significance behind it. This informative and enriching visit not only enhanced students’ understanding of Hong Kong’s financial system but also deepened their interest in the study of economics.
