Field Trip to Chi Lin Nunnery
2025-03-18

On March 18, 2025, the Civic and Social Development department led a group of Secondary 4 students on a field trip to Chi Lin Nunnery. The purpose of the trip was to allow students to personally experience Chinese culture and traditional Chinese architectural art. Before the trip, students had already studied traditional Chinese wooden architecture and Shanxi Jin culture in their CSD classes. They also built a dougong (bracket set) model by hand during class. During the field trip, students were guided by a professional docent to explore Chi Lin Nunnery, Nan Lian Garden, and the Wooden Architecture Structure Museum. Both teachers and students found the experience highly rewarding.
