Our S4 Chinese Literature students participated in the Hong Kong Literature Guided Tour organized by the Education University of Hong Kong on 20 Nov 2024.
The docent led the students through the Fu Shin Street Wet Market, Tai Po Man Mo Temple and other local landmarks. While learning about the community's historical and cultural background, they also gained a deeper understanding of literary works related to Tai Po through personal observation and experience.
At the end of the literary walk, the students engaged in impromptu creative writing and drawing on Kwong Fuk Bridge to express their feelings along the way. The sounds and smells of the market, the drizzling cold rain, and even a lazy cat in the Man Mo Temple all became their creative materials. The sharing of readings on the bridge was also particularly interesting.
It is believed that this activity enriched the students' creative experiences and helped them better understand the close relationship between the community and literature.
