On 5 Nov 2024, Principal Wong and our career teacher, Mr. So and six senior form students visited the North District Hospital, which was connected by Mr. David Lui and Principal Carol Kwong. Participants included students from 4 different secondary schools. They toured different departments of the hospital and had a deeper understanding of the daily work of various medical specialists.
During the visit, Dr. Lo, Head of the Accident & Emergency Department, shared with the participants the mission, history, development and future plans of the North District Hospital. Students were then invited to visit a simulated operating room, the Urology Diagnostic Centre and the Occupational Therapy Department of the Hospital. They had practical hands-on experience with CRP and operating the AED, and got to know how the preparation works before a surgery. Medical specialists generously shared their duties, the experiences and the difficulties of their work. Our students seized this valuable opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the medical field by careful observations, active engagement in the activities and asking questions.
We sincerely thank the arrangements organized by the North District Hospital as this hospital visit has broadened students' horizons. At the same time, we would like to salute the untiring efforts of the medical professionals in serving the public.
