Student Leaders’ Dinner Gathering
2024-10-18

Yi Jing, one of the most famous Chinese Classics, states: "As heaven moves vigorously, a gentleman strives for self-improvement constantly." Only through steadfast determination and relentless progress can one embrace every challenge life presents, undeterred by setbacks.

This year's Student Leaders' Dinner Gathering provided an opportunity for students to learn the importance of self-motivation and perseverance. The event took place on the evening of October 18, with 28 student leaders in attendance. We were honored to have Principal WONG, Vice Principal PANG, Assistant Principal CHAN, Assistant Principal WONG, Miss IP Hiu To and advisor of the Student Union Mr. HO Lai Shun present to show their support.

We were particularly privileged to invite alumna Miss YAM Ka Wai, who is currently a legal advisor of a listed company, to share her insights. Graduating in 2016, Miss YAM served as the Vice Head Prefect and the Chairperson of the Community Youth Club during her time at school, bringing rich leadership experience. Notably, she was also elected as the Hong Kong Outstanding Student in 2015, a well-recognized award given by the Youth Arch Foundation. During her study at the University of Hong Kong, she actively supported BOUNDLESS, an non-profit organization that provides under-resourced students with mentorship and training opportunities which help them succeed in the future.

During the dinner, Miss YAM engaged in heartfelt discussions with the students, guiding them to seize opportunities at various stages of life. She encouraged them to actively explore and prepare for the unpredictable ups and downs ahead, emphasizing the importance of continuous reflection and self-improvement. Her sharing broadened the horizons of the student leaders, offering them invaluable insights.

Through this exchange, students learned to maintain a proactive mindset in facing life's challenges, embodying the virtues of perseverance, diligence, and responsibility in their roles as student leaders.
