2024-07-05

The 2023-2024 S6 Graduation Ceremony was splendidly held on 5 July 2024. We were honoured to have Dr. Connie Wong Oi Yan, an awardee of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons Selection and dubbed the "Three-Finger Pianist," be the guest of honour who presented certificates to our graduates.

Supervisor, Miss Jennifer Wong Chi Mei, emphasized the message that MST is a big family and every graduate is a cherished member who receives our unwavering support. Principal Miss Wong Lee Lee congratulated them on their broad achievements inside and outside the school. She encouraged gratuates to strive relentlessly in the face of future challenges and to pursue excellence.

Then, the guest of honour, Dr. Connie Wong Oi Yan, delivered an inspiring speech and presented the certificates to our graduates. As an alumnus of our school, Dr. Wong enthusiastically congratulated them on reaching this milestone in their lives and shared fond memories of her life at MST, her alma mater. She encouraged the graduates to persevere through difficulties and setbacks, remembering that God’s grace is with them, and gives them the strength to overcome. Dr. Wong also urged parents of the graduates to refrain from becoming "helicopter parents" or "snowplow parents" and to let go of their children to allow them to explore life and pursue their dreams. Dr. Wong went on to remind us that the educational mission of the Sheng Kung Hui is " Not to be served, but to serve." so the graduates should prepare themselves for serving the community by thinking carefully about what they aspire to do and equipping themselves with knowledge from outside the classroom.

Finally, Dr. Connie Wong performed “A Wonder Journey’, a piece of music she composed herself on the piano. On stage, she praised God as the light on our path and encouraged our graduates to embrace life’s ups and downs and never to give up. After the music ended, the audience burst into thunderous applause, deeply inspired.

After that, the graduate representatives gave speeches, expressing gratitude to the teachers for their hard work,  nurturing them, upholding their values, and inspiring them to confidently build a rewarding future. The graduation ceremony concluded with a blessing from Rev. Tony Au-Yeung Siu Kei, the chaplain of the Saviour's Church.
