VR Project for Chinese Language Education
2024-07-08

To enhance the effectiveness of language learning, our school participated in the Jockey Club VR Project for Chinese Language Education "VR Experience Week". Sixty recommended junior form students visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong on 8 July 2024.

The students first attended a lecture on local literary landscapes led by renowned author Mr. Mak Sunny Shu Kin. They then appreciated writer Xiaosi's work "Late Autumn at Lake Ad Excellentiam" about CUHK's "Weiyuan Lake", and by touring the relevant campus landscapes, they gained a better understanding of the humanistic sentiments expressed in the text, which increased the students' knowledge of literary creation. Finally, through experiencing virtual reality (VR) technology with the concept of landscape literature, the students further enhanced their interest in local literature.
