Staff Development Day was held on 7 Dec 2024. Due to an increase in the number of student suicides in Hong Kong in recent years, our school organized a workshop titled "Risks of Student Suicides: Emotional Support and Daily Management" for our staff. We were honored to have Mr. Lam Chun Hung, an educational psychologist, as our speaker. The workshop aimed to enhance the skills of our staff in identifying and supporting students at risk of suicide. Mr. Lam discussed various aspects, including the causes, identifying signals, coping strategies, and risk assessment related to student suicide. Through role-playing and group discussions, our teachers learned how to respond to suicidal behaviors at different levels of severity. Teachers have gained knowledge about prevention and response strategies.
