As one of the nine new towns in Hong Kong, Tai Po is a well-planned community which benefits our daily lives. However, there are still some problems observed in less well-planned urban districts of Hong Kong.

The Geography Department conducted a field study of old urban districts on 3 April 2024. 17 students from Form 2 to 4 have investigated the urban environment, problems and renewal strategies of Mongkok and Sham Shui Po.

Students have become more familiar with the situations of the old urban districts in Hong Kong, as well as the importance of urban planning to our daily lives.
